Kitchen Aid To Contribute Approximate Stage With Celebrity Chefs At South Beach Wine And Food Celebration

KitchenAid is once again partnering with Food Network and Southern Wine and Spirits to showcase its products and the talents of top celebrity chefs to a live audience at the 11th annual Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE. The Festival, scheduled for February 23-26, is expected to draw more than 50,000 attendees.

GE Capital Provides Resourceful Golf And Turf Equipment Industry

GE Capital, Americas has launched a new quarterly Industry Research Update for the lawn, golf and turf equipment industries in advance of two important industry events, the Outdoor Power Equipment and Engine Service Association (OPEESA) Annual Meeting taking place Feb. 26-29 in Phoenix, and the Golf Industry Show (GIS) taking place Feb. 29-March 1 in Las Vegas.

Frigidaire Acquires Distinction Energy Star Award

America's Favorite Home Brand


In 1927, Kenmore first appeared on a Sears laundry appliance, an agitator type, wringer washing machine. By 1936, Sears had already sold 1 million Kenmore laundry items. Its popularity hasn’t slipped. Today, nearly one in every three American homes contains a Kenmore appliance. You can see why, when you look at Kenmore’s history. The Kenmore brand boasts a long list of firsts in automatic appliances, energy efficiency, and stylish, modern designs.

The first appearance of the Kenmore brand washing machine almost escaped notice. The Kenmore washing machine did not show up in the venerable Sears catalog that year, and no known photograph of the 1927 washing machine with a Kenmore brand on it exists. The origin of the name Kenmore is equally vague.  One suggestion is that Kenmore came from Kenmore Avenue, a prominent street in Chicago.

With nearly 99 percent of urban homes wired for electricity by the end of the 1920s, Sears recognized the huge untapped market in household appliances. To reach this market Sears offered a wide assortment of Kenmore appliances.

After the Second World War, Sears helped revolutionize home dйcor with the introduction of the Kenmore Harmony House line of appliances. Kenmore Harmony House appliances featured the latest designs and technology for washing machines, dryers, and ranges. These appliances came in bright colors including Sunshine Yellow, Malibu Coral, Aquamarine, and the standard white finish.

Over the decades new Kenmore products reflected consumer demand. Kenmore dishwashers, garbage disposals, and trash compactors joined ranges, washing machines and dryers. Kenmore added countertop appliances to the product mix.  The Kenmore product line included everything from sunlamps, and electric baby bottle sterilizers, to vacuum cleaners, and electric blankets. Sears also sold a Kenmore 3-piece barber set and hair clippers, and a Lady Kenmore electric shaver. In 1977 Sears put the Kenmore brand name on refrigerators.

“ENERGY STAR Most Efficient” is a new EPA program designed to identify and advance highly efficient products in the marketplace. The effort will call out the most efficient products among those that qualify for the ENERGY STAR in particular product categories.

Evaluation criteria were established to ensure that products earning this designation demonstrate efficiency performance that is truly exceptional, inspirational, or leading edge — consistent with the interests of environmentally-motivated consumers and early adopters.

"This new label will help Americans save money and cut pollution by quickly pointing them to the best ENERGY STAR products have to offer. Highlighting ENERGY STAR’S Most Efficient products is a great way to encourage the strides in innovation that bring even more energy and money saving choices to our stores," said EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson. "We know American consumers are eager to make purchases that save them money on their utility bills and reduce the pollution in the air we breathe, and these labels will help them identify the best ways to find those purchases."

Frigidaire offers eco-friendly washers that use up to 82% less energy and 60% less water than washers from just ten years ago.  Plus, the Energy Saver Option further reduces energy use up to 60%.1
